Overview
Personal project, public repo. Elara is a personal voice agent for the Gemini Live API on COSMIC Desktop: a Rust applet for panel UI over DBus plus the cosmic-agentd Go daemon for audio capture and playback, a persistent WebSocket, tool calling, and a systemd user service.
What was built
- Rust applet: native COSMIC panel integration over DBus.
- Go daemon: realtime audio and WebSocket pipeline with interruption toggle, VAD, and voice selection.
- Web search via Google grounding or SearXNG, sandboxed filesystem tools, MCP servers, TOML config.
- COSMIC Desktop only (Pop!_OS 24.04). Requires Go ≥ 1.21 and Rust/Cargo.
